Our innovative vocational programs offer hands-on job training rooted in therapeutic principles.
Through ASC’s aviary therapy initiative, participants care for flocks of laying hens and help operate a small, client-run egg business. Daily responsibilities—feeding, cleaning, organizing, and marketing—promote teamwork, responsibility, and confidence. Funds are being raised to build a professional-grade packing house to support sales at local farmers markets. This initiative not only prepares clients for supported employment but also challenges stigma by enabling them to participate visibly and meaningfully in the community. Throughout the course of the history of ASC, the desire to participate in work opportunities has been consistent and primarily unavailable to these populations.
Every dollar supports long-term healing beyond clinical care.

Evidence shows that healing environments reduce behavioral crises, increase treatment engagement, and lead to better long-term outcomes. But most mental health facilities remain sterile, outdated, and uninspiring.
This project isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about building a system that works. A space where recovery feels possible, people feel safe, and healing becomes sustainable. We’re showing California and the country that you don’t have to rebuild from scratch to create something revolutionary.
